The Spanish Government has approved an urgent decree to regularize the status of foreign nationals already living in Spain, aiming to facilitate their legal and labor market integration.
📌 Requirements to qualify for this measure:
• Proof of at least 5 continuous months of residence in Spain
• Having arrived in Spain before December 31, 2025
• No criminal record and not posing a threat to public order
👉 Who can apply?
Foreign nationals who meet these criteria may apply for a one-year legal residence authorization, provided they can demonstrate the required length of stay and a clean criminal record.
🗓️ Application deadlines:
The application period will begin in April and run until June 30. The Government has committed to ensuring that the administrative process does not take longer than three months.
This measure is expected to provide legal certainty, access to employment, and basic rights to a large number of people currently living in Spain without regularized status.
